Ronny Spiegel

Ronny Spiegel

Ronny Spiegel was born in Winterthur (Switzerland), in 1982. At the age of six he started taking violin lessons from his grandmother Katharina Hardy. In 1993 he got accepted to the Yehudi Menuhin School in London, where he was a student of Natasha Boyarskaya. Ronny has participated in numerous masterclasses with Yehudi Menuhin, Tibor Varga, Erich Höbarth, Mauricio Fuks, Jean-Pierre Wallez, Sandra Goldberg and Isaac Malkin and in 2009 graduated from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne, where he studied with Gyulla Stuller.

Ronny’s interest in music was not just focused on classical music. Even while he was studying he explored inspiring new ways of doing music, and he is still discovering more today. That explains his versatility as a freelance musician in various different musical genres. For many years now, Ronny has been playing with his Balkan Quartet „musique en route“, the „Kaleidoscope String Quartet“, and with his Piano Quartet „s-ensemble“, giving concerts across Switzerland and abroad.

He has been invited as guest concertmaster with the Camerata Schweiz, the Basel Sinfonietta and the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester on many occasions. Since 2016, Ronny has also been a member of La Folia Barockorchester, Germany.
