Yuka Tsuboi was born in Tokyo and admitted in 1944 at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England. She studied the violin with Kumiko Eto, Hu Kun, Ana Chumachenko and Zakhar Bron and the alto with Jürg Dähler. She played au Royal Albert Hall et au Wigmore Hall London. Touring in Germany, she played the 3rd violin Mozart concerto conducted by Yehudi Menuhin. She got a scholarship from the Yamaha Foundation and from the Margrit Meisteer Foundation in Zurich. She has been a laureate of many international competitions, such as Rodolfo Lipizer and Sarasota. In 2005, she founded the Galatea Quartet which was noticed in the Geneva Competition 2006, Migros 2007, Osaka and Borciani 2008. Since then, the quartet has been successful in many tours in Europe and Asia and it is regularly invited to well-known festivals.
